Monday, May 26, 2008 (10:00am) Memorial Day CeremonyCo-hosted with the American Legion 11th District. This Ceremony is held to honor our nation's military, past and present, and to remember the sacrifice of those who died in our country's service. Guest speaker will be Andy Robertson, Department Commander. Friday, September 19, 2008 (10:00am) Annual POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony*This ceremony honors all former Prisoners of War and those still Missing in Action. Over 1,400 Virginians are listed as Missing in Action from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Former POW, CDR Paul Galanti, USN (Ret.), will be the guest speaker. VICTORY IN EUROPE TOUR - April 7-16, 2009Join friends of the Virginia War Memorial as they travel to England and France to honor the "greatest generation" of World War II. This ten day journey will start in London, proceed through England to Portsmouth and across the English Channel, spend several days in and around Normandy, and conclude with a tour of Paris.
