Directions
The Virginia War Memorial is located in a very historic area of Richmond only a few blocks from the city's bustling downtown area. It sits on the North side of the James River just upstream from the historic Tredegar Iron Works which made cannons and mortars used by the South during the Civil War. The memorial can be reached by following the directions below.

From points West or North
- Interstate 95 South to Exit 76B (Belvidere Street).
- At the traffic light at the end of the ramp - turn left onto West Leigh Street.
- Continue 1/10th of a mile to the first traffic light.Turn right onto Belvidere Street.
- Proceed on Belvidere Street (Rt 1 & 301 South) through 10 traffic lights.
From points South
- Interstate 95 North to Exit 76A (Chamberlayne Avenue).
- At the traffic light at the end of ramp - turn left onto Chamberlayne Parkway.
- Turn right onto West Leigh Street (you will pass a statue on your right).
- Turn left at the first traffic light onto Belvidere (Route 1 & 301).
- Proceed on Belvidere Street (Rt 1 & 301 South) through 10 traffic lights.
- After 10th stoplight, turn left at next turn lane (last left turn before Lee Bridge over the James).
- Veer to right into Memorial parking lot.
