The Virginia War Memorial is governed by a Board of Trustees which is comprised of five members of the Virginia House of Delegates, three members of the Senate of Virginia, the Secretary of Administration who serves ex-officio, and ten members appointed by the Governor.
Our educational programs, as well as the many year-round patriotic events we sponsor, must rely on the goodwill of donors. That’s why we need your support; without it, we will not be able to continue these vital activities. We urge you to make a contribution to the most precious cause of all – the cause of freedom. To learn how you can help, please contribute by clicking here or call 804-786-2060. The Memorial is a 501(c)(3) organization, and all contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Virginia War Memorial Annual Giving Donation
The Virginia War Memorial’s mission is to Honor Our Veterans, Remember Our History, Educate Our Children, and Inspire Patriotism in all through overseeing and stewarding the Memorial, hosting educational and patriotic events, and creating and airing first-person historical accounts of veterans’ war experiences. None of the educational and patriotic programs are paid for by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Instead, we depend on the generosity of donors to achieve our mission.
The following donor levels are our way of acknowledging and thanking our many generous supporters who give during the course of the year a one-time gift or a pledge to be paid that year.
Each donor will be recognized in the Educational Foundation’s annual report at the corresponding level of support for the preceding fiscal year.
Ring Of Honor Benefits
Those in the Ring of Honor level will also benefit from the following...
- Recognition on a board erected in the Memorial’s lobby.
- Preferential seating at all patriotic events like the Memorial Day and Veterans’ Day ceremonies.
- An invitation to a cocktail and hors d'oeuvre reception, tentatively scheduled the day before Veterans’ Day, to socialize with other patriots and to be recognized for your generosity.
Eternal Flame Benefits
Those who become a part of the Eternal Flame will also be allowed to use the Memorial’s auditorium, with a 200 person seating capacity, once in the year the donation is made. While use is subject to availability and approval of the event by staff, you can have accessibility to a large venue for your personal organizational event.
